Chris wants to use his new Macbook Pro for both Mac OS X and Windows. Since he has plenty of hard drive space, Leo recommends using BootCamp. BootCamp turns the Mac into a 'dual-boot' machine. On startup, he'll have a choice of whether it will be a Mac or Windows PC. When he runs Windows, it'll run at full speed just like a typical Windows laptop. Note: Parallels Desktop 14 for Mac brings a new feature: CPU Usage Monitor. Look at VM window tray and CPU Usage Monitor will light up in red when CPU usage in Windows is above 70%. Parallels Access for Mac offers a transparent way of working with your computer remotely from your mobile device. The software comes with a trial period and after that requires a monthly or annual subscription. On the performance side, the app is quite robust and can accept connections from both iOS and Android devices as well as its Web app.
Pros
Solid performance: While no remote desktop software can be a complete substitute for interacting with an actual device, Parallels Access for Mac comes close. It is fast and responsive as long as you're on a high-speed network, and there aren't too many animations on the screen. If you're in a situation where bandwidth is limited, you can opt to reduce the visual quality for an increase in responsiveness.
Set and forget: You can set the software to start up automatically with your Mac, so it is constantly available. You can even enable it to automatically check for updates and apply them, ensuring you always have the latest version at all times. Another nice touch is the prompt that appears when you open the app for the first time, asking you to disable sleep on your computer, so it's online all of the time.

Secure: In the app's settings you can request that all mobile clients, even those that are using your Parallels account, must enter the Mac's username and password for added protection. There are also options that allow you to lock the Mac to observers physically present in the room while you're using it and keep it locked once you log out.
Cons
Requires subscription: It is hard to justify owning such a product and paying a monthly subscription when there are cheaper and even free services that give you similar capabilities. On the plus side, you have a 14-day free trial to test the software before purchasing a subscription.
No Mac client software: If you're on another Mac and want to access your computer back home, you're stuck with using the product's Web application. There is no client software for Mac or Windows, only for iOS and Android.
Bottom Line
Although Parallels Access for Mac covers the basics when it comes to working with remote computers, it doesn't offer anything truly groundbreaking that warrants a premium subscription, especially when compared to free services like TeamViewer. The software is also hampered by the lack of a native desktop client -- to make computer-to-computer connections, you'll have to use Parallels Access' website.

RENTON, Wash. & SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Parallels® today unveiled Parallels Mac Management 4.0 for Microsoft® System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) (www.parallels.com/mac-management), which extends Microsoft SCCM (www.microsoft.com/sccm) functionality to manage and control Mac® computers with ease. The new software will be demonstrated July 14–15 at the MacIT Conference (booth #101) in Santa Clara, CA, and will be available for purchase on July 24.
IT departments are in dire need of a solution to simply manage and secure Mac devices as an increasing number of companies are allowing employees the choice of using a Mac or PC at work, as IBM recently announced*. Additionally, the majority of IT decision-makers believe that a single PC and Mac management system would streamline operations (71 percent) and would save money (55 percent)**. Parallels Mac Management for Microsoft SCCM enables IT departments to easily discover, enroll and manage Mac devices just as they do existing PCs — all through a single pane of glass.
The new version of Parallels Mac Management adds the capability for IT administrators to create lightweight OS X® images which can be customized via Microsoft SCCM task sequence steps based on the end-user’s needs, or deploy a single “monolithic” OS X image to all users, giving them flexibility to keep every Mac secure and easy to manage, and saving bandwidth. Additionally, Parallels Mac Management enables IT admins to easily gather hardware and software inventory of all Mac machines on the network.
“It is incredible how quickly the demand for enterprises to manage large numbers of Mac devices has grown in our industry,” said Daniel Yurcovic, senior operations engineer for Slalom. “I cannot emphasize enough how Parallels Mac Management has enabled Slalom to quickly and efficiently adapt to this trend in a way which leverages our investment in the capabilities of Microsoft SCCM.”
Parallels Mac Management 4.0 empowers everyone from IT administrators to system architects to CIOs to quickly and cost-effectively extend their current Microsoft SCCM infrastructure to control Mac with customization options IT departments demand, without the significant time and expense of an additional infrastructure. The update enhances the simple and powerful plug-in that streamlines enrollment and control of Mac, simplifies rollouts of Mac software, provides features for planning hardware refresh cycles accurately, and empowers IT administrators to make their Mac computers more secure using advanced encryption techniques.
